Trent A. Echard is a shareholder at Strassburger McKenna Gutnick & Gefsky. Trent’s background is geared toward solving complex problems. He holds two engineering degrees, and he has served as a staff attorney for a federal judge.
Trent handles most types of civil litigation. He is also the chair of the firm’s Oil and Gas Practice Group.
Trent was born and raised in Westmoreland County. After graduating from Carnegie Mellon University, Trent worked as an engineer for Lockheed Martin in the U.S. Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program.
Trent then attended law school and began his legal career as a staff attorney for a federal judge. In that role, Trent worked on a wide variety of commercial cases, employment cases, trade secrets cases, personal injury cases, civil rights cases, and white collar criminal cases. This experience built the base for the practice that Trent maintains today.
At Strassburger McKenna Gutnick & Gefsky, Trent continues to handle all types of civil matters. He practices in state and federal courts. He handles trials, appeals, emergency injunctions, and other litigation proceedings. Recently, Trent served as co-counsel to the relators in a lawsuit under the False Claims Act that was resolved by a settlement for $95.5 million. No matter what situation his client may be facing, Trent strives to increase his client’s understanding of the issues and to decrease any anxiety his client might have about the legal process.
