Alan T. Shuckrow

Alan T. Shuckrow has been an attorney at Strassburger McKenna Gutnick & Gefsky since 1997 and has been a Shareholder since 2003. From 2014 to 2019, he served as the firm’s President and Managing Shareholder. He currently serves on the Executive Committee as the firm’s Treasurer and Chair of the Finance Committee. His experience ranges from municipal and education law to civil litigation and real estate. His clients include non-profit and for-profit organizations and governmental entities.

Alan’s education law practice includes a niche focus on representing charter schools. He also has experience as a school district solicitor and special counsel to school entities.

Alan has represented government bodies, including townships, boroughs, authorities, and counties, in matters involving zoning, land use, labor, collective bargaining, Pennsylvania Sunshine Act, Pennsylvania Right-to-Know Law, and sewage and water issues.

In the area of real estate litigation, Alan has experience with tax assessments and exemptions, condominium and homeowner association issues, landlord/tenant disputes, zoning, land use, oil and gas leasing, lender liability, mortgage foreclosures, and title disputes.

Alan is known for his problem-solving skills, both inside and outside of the courtroom. He has put this to work advocating on behalf of business and individual clients in countless negotiations, transactions, and court proceedings.

Alan, his wife, and two children live in McCandless, a North Hills suburb of Pittsburgh.
