Anthony Judice is a senior attorney at Strassburger McKenna Gutnick & Gefsky. Mr. Judice’s area of focus is real estate and labor/employment.
Prior to joining Strassburger McKenna Gutnick & Gefsky, Mr. Judice practiced for eight years in a law firm setting both in the Pittsburgh office of a national law firm as well as a top regional law firm. During this time, he developed unique ability to manage both litigation and transactional matters for numerous clients ranging from local businesses to national corporations.
Mr. Judice is a 2010 graduate of Duquesne University School of Law, where he was a Public Interest Fellowship Awardee. His published article Mandatory COVID Vaccine for Healthcare Workers was a key piece of work for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid requiring COVID-19 vaccinations for workers in institutional care settings.
Mr. Judice is active with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation where he was honored as one of Pittsburgh’s Finest in 2015 and has served as a mentor for many years.
Represented corporate clients on matters before state and federal courts and agencies in a variety of employment matters, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, FMLA, ADA, ADEA, Title VII and wage and hour
Participated in Act 111 binding arbitrations for collective bargaining agreements between municipalities and police officers
Represented employers before the American Arbitration Association on collective bargaining agreement labor disputes
Counseled company heads and human resources professionals regarding employee relations, termination, employee leave, employee handbooks and developing/drafting various policies and procedures
Conducted analysis and revision of employee handbook provisions
Advised hospitality clients on exempt vs. non-exempt status of employees in addition to recent legal changes to tip pooling laws
Advised corporate clients on the constantly changing COVID-19 CMS Interim Final Rule affecting most healthcare facilities
Counseled employers on employee accommodation requests and advised on the proper method of responding to the same
Handled the acquisition and disposition of both residential real estate and commercial office space/retail business space
Drafted and negotiated purchase and sale agreements, commercial property leases, subordination of lien agreements and easement/right of way documentation
Conducted in-depth analysis and final reviews of certified title opinions and due diligence reporting for certification
Provided real estate and energy law analysis on ownership of real property and mineral interests as well as interpretation of legal defects in property title
Facilitated numerous multi-million-dollar acquisitions through the detailed examination and interpretation of title abstracts and associated documents for specific parcels of land
Successfully litigated a Motion for Judgement on the Pleadings in Washington County, PA for a Quiet Title Action affecting drilling natural gas well sites and various insurance companies
Achieved default judgement on mortgage reformation action and legal description amendments to past deeds
Successfully negotiated settlements of personal injury defense and corporate business litigation matters
Drafted corporate structure documents including, operating and/or management agreements, purchase and sale agreements, Master Service Agreements, and Membership Purchase Agreements
Led the drafting, revision, and filing of certificates of organization, EIN registrations, PA-100 filing, Unemployment Tax ID and other corporate filings with Department of State
Advised lenders on corporate structure in determination and drafting of various credit agreements
Drafted and review financing agreements, mortgage notes, refinancing agreements and other corporate finance documentation
Directed review and due diligence activities surrounding various merger and acquisition projects for large-scale corporate asset sales ranging from $1M to $700M in total assets
Conducted third-party review of non-disclosure agreements and partnership agreements between local banks and development vendors
