Anthony J. Judice

Anthony Judice is a Director at Strassburger McKenna Gutnick & Gefsky. Anthony’s area of focus is real estate and labor and employment.

Prior to joining Strassburger McKenna Gutnick & Gefsky, Anthony practiced for eight years in a law firm setting both in the Pittsburgh office of a national law firm as well as a top regional law firm. During this time, he developed a unique ability to manage both litigation and transactional matters for numerous clients ranging from local businesses to national corporations.

Anthony is a 2010 graduate of Duquesne University School of Law, where he was a Public Interest Fellowship Awardee. His published article Mandatory COVID Vaccine for Healthcare Workers was a key piece of work on the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid requiring COVID-19 vaccinations for workers in institutional care settings.

Anthony is active with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation where he was honored as one of Pittsburgh’s Finest in 2015, and has served as a mentor for many years. He also serves as the Strassburger McKenna Gutnick & Gefsky representative for the Westmoreland County Chamber of Commerce.

Experience and Representative Matters

  • Represented corporate clients on matters before state and federal courts and agencies in a variety of employment matters, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, FMLA, ADA, ADEA, Title VII, wrongful termination, breach of employment contracts and wage and hour.
  • Represented various individuals on negotiation of separation agreements with former employers.
  • Counseled company heads and human resources professionals regarding employee relations, termination, employee leave, employee handbooks and developing/drafting various policies and procedures.
  • Drafted corporate structure and operating documents including, operating and/or management agreements, purchase and sale agreements, Master Service Agreements, Membership Purchase Agreements, employment contracts, employee handbook provisions, non-competition addendums, confidentiality provisions and non-solicitation provisions.
  • Participated in Act 111 binding arbitrations for collective bargaining agreements between municipalities and police officers.
  • Represented employers before the American Arbitration Association on collective bargaining agreement labor disputes.
  • Advised hospitality clients on exempt vs. non-exempt status of employees in addition tip pooling laws.
  • Advised corporate clients on the constantly changing COVID-19 employment rules, accommodation requests and advised on the proper method of responding to the same.
  • Successfully negotiated settlements of corporate business litigation matters, corporate structure and dissolution matters, real estate litigation matter and employment litigation matters.
  • Litigated cases for clients with real estate litigation matters, including condominium and homeowners’ association disputes, title matters, boundary disputes, construction claims, seller’s disclosure violations and landlord/tenant matters.
  • Counseled businesses and individuals on all types of real estate matters including acquisitions and dispositions, leasing, property management, seller’s disclosure matters, landlord/tenant matters and violations.
  • Drafted and negotiated purchase and sale agreements, commercial property leases, subordination of lien agreements and easement/right of way documentation.
  • Participated extensively in the defense of a condominium developer in three-week jury trial resulting in defeating a claim for more than $6m for alleged common area construction defects.
  • Actively prosecuted as lead counsel against a condominium developer for various violations of the Pennsylvania Condominium Act.
  • Assisted condominium associations with facilitating turnover of common areas from Declarant subject to the Pennsylvania Condominium Act.
  • Handled the acquisition and disposition of both residential real estate and commercial office space/retail business space.
  • Provided real estate and energy law analysis on ownership of real property and mineral interests as well as interpretation of legal defects in property title.
