Gretchen E. Moore is an associate with the Pittsburgh office of Strassburger McKenna Gutnick & Gefsky. Her primary practice areas include civil litigation, commercial litigation, and family law. She is also interested in community and economic development, land use, and child advocacy issues.
Ms. Moore received her law degree in December 2005 from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. While in law school, she was a member of the National Moot Court Team and an associate editor on JURIST, Pitt's on-line legal news service. She also participated in the Criminal Prosecution Practicum at the District Attorney's Office in Pittsburgh. Ms. Moore represented the University of Pittsburgh at the Regional Appellate Moot Court Competition in November 2005.
Prior to going to law school, Ms. Moore was a research associate at the Urban Institute, an economic and social policy research organization, in Washington, DC. She managed projects in the areas of community policing, domestic violence, and substance abuse treatment in prisons. Most recently, her research focused on the role of community organizations and community institutional capacity in shaping neighborhood change.
After graduating cum laude from St. Joseph's University in 1996, Ms. Moore spent a year with the Americorps National Civilian Community Corps where she performed community service in the areas of education, environment, public safety, and unmet human needs. She then returned to St. Joseph's University for a one-year graduate assistantship position in the Sociology Department.
Ms. Moore is a member of the American Bar Association, Pennsylvania Bar Association, and the Allegheny County Bar Association.
Ms. Moore is a native of Vineland, New Jersey. She currently lives in the Borough of Thornburg with her husband, Matthew, and their daughter.
