Gretchen E. Moore is a director with the Pittsburgh office of Strassburger McKenna Gutnick & Gefsky. Ms. Moore represents clients in state and federal courts, before administrative boards, and in arbitration and mediation proceedings primarily in the areas of civil and commercial litigation and municipal law.
Ms. Moore has extensive experience with contract, construction, securities law, commercial fraud, and appellate work. She has represented clients on cases large and small, from multi-million dollar commercial and business cases to litigation against franchisors, construction cases, and contract disputes of all sizes.
Ms. Moore received her law degree in December 2005 from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. While in law school, she was a member of the National Moot Court Team and an associate editor on JURIST, Pitt’s on-line legal news service.
Her background and experience provide a strong foundation for the attention to detail and advocacy that she provides for her clients today. Prior to law school, Ms. Moore was a research associate at the Urban Institute, a Washington, DC think tank. She managed a variety of law and justice-related projects. In her capacity at the Urban Institute, she authored dozens of publications, worked with government entities, private companies, and non-governmental organizations, and presented findings to clients and at local, state, and national conferences.
After graduating cum laude from St. Joseph's University in 1996, Ms. Moore spent a year with the Americorps National Civilian Community Corps where she performed community service in the areas of education, environment, public safety, and unmet human needs. She then returned to St. Joseph's University for a one year graduate assistantship position in the Sociology Department.
She is a member of the American Bar Association, Pennsylvania Bar Association, and the Allegheny County Bar Association.
Ms. Moore is a native of Vineland, New Jersey. She currently lives in the Borough of Thornburg with her husband, Matthew, and their children.
