Krystel G. Becker
Strassburger McKenna Gutnick & Gefsky (SMGG) proudly announces that Krystel Becker has joined the firm as an Associate, where she will be supporting clients across a diverse range of practice areas, including independent investigations, public sector representation, nonprofit counsel, adoption, guardianship, and family formation and litigation.
Krystel’s path to SMGG reflects a deep commitment to advocacy, service, and community engagement. She began her legal career at SMGG as a law clerk while earning her J.D. from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. During law school, she served as a certified legal intern with the Immigration Law Clinic, handling complex filings for temporary protected status and humanitarian parole, represented clients in immigration court, and worked closely with nonprofit partners to help clients overcome cultural and language barriers in the legal system.
Prior to entering the legal field, Krystel earned her doctorate in International Relations from Florida International University, with a research focus on foreign policy and national security studies. She also served as an advisor to the Minister of Rural Development and Local Government in Trinidad and Tobago, her country of origin, where she worked on legislative initiatives, coordinated national disaster relief efforts, and led media and communications strategy.
“Krystel’s unique combination of global policy experience and compassionate client advocacy brings tremendous value to our firm and our clients,” said Gretchen Moore, President of SMGG. “Her dedication to service and justice mirrors the core of what we strive for at SMGG.”
