Strassburger McKenna Gutnick & Gefsky (“SMGG”) is proud to announce that it has added two shareholders to its ranks. Pam Connelly has joined the firm as a shareholder and Kathryn Clark has been promoted to shareholder.
Ms. Connelly most recently served The University of Pittsburgh as its first Vice Chancellor for Diversity and Inclusion. Prior to that she served the University as an associate general counsel, as litigation counsel and as legal counsel on a broad variety of matters including employment issues. Ms. Connelly worked in private practice earlier in her career. She earned her juris doctorate from the University of Pittsburgh’s School of Law and her undergraduate degree from Penn State University.
At SMGG she will focus her practice on higher education law, litigation and employment law. “I am excited to be returning to the law firm environment and thrilled to work with my colleagues and our clients to help grow SMGG and particularly the higher education practice area. The firm’s reputation is stellar and I have observed that its leadership truly values people” said Ms. Connelly.
David Strassburger, SMGG’s President and Managing Shareholder, and a law school classmate of Ms. Connelly’s remarked, “Pam is a super star lawyer and we are proud she chose to join us. We are excited to see what Pam will accomplish in collaboration with our clients, attorneys and staff.”
Ms. Clark joined SMGG in 2018 after several years of owning and running her own firm. She previously was a partner at an AmLaw 200 firm headquartered in Pittsburgh. Ms. Clark focuses her practice in the areas of education, municipal law and employment law. She earned her undergraduate degree from Dickinson College and her juris doctorate from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law.
“The environment created by the people and the high quality of the attorneys at Strassburger McKenna are why I am excited to become a shareholder here” said Ms. Clark.
David Strassburger remarked, “From the day Kathy joined us, she has exhibited the highest level of excellence as an attorney and as a colleague. We are pleased that she will be with us going forward as a shareholder.”
