SMGG Shareholder, Christopher Azzara, Elected President of Vincentian Collaborative System’s Board of Directors

Strassburger McKenna Gutnick & Gefsky is pleased to announce that shareholder Christopher Azzara has been elected President of Vincentian Collaborative System’s Board of Directors.

Mr. Azzara is a member of the Executive Committee, chair of the firm’s Banking, Creditors’ Rights and Insolvency Group, and Co-Chair of the firm’s Real Estate Group. His legal practice focuses on Real Estate, Financial Services, Business Transactions, Public and Non-Profit Organizations, Construction, and Commercial Litigation. He is currently one of only five lawyers in Pennsylvania to be board certified as a creditors’ rights specialist by the American Board of Certification. Mr. Azzara has been named a Super Lawyer by Super Lawyers, part of Thomson Reuters, and was also recognized as a Best Lawyer by U.S. News. He earned a Martindale-Hubbell® Peer Rating of AV® Pre-eminent in the fields of Real Estate, Bankruptcy, and Commercial Litigation. Mr. Azzara is a 2006 graduate of Duquesne University School of Law and received his undergraduate degree from Fairfield University in 2002.

Vincentian is a not-for-profit health care and human services organization that offers a continuum of care for more than 2,000 seniors per year, including independent living, personal care, memory care, short-term rehabilitation, and skilled nursing. Vincentian coordinates three long-term senior care communities in the Greater Pittsburgh area, plus three personal care homes, two child care centers, two independent living communities, and a charitable foundation. The system was founded in the Catholic tradition in 1924 and is sponsored by the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth.

As President of the Board for Vincentian, Mr. Azzara will be leading several initiatives to help take the organization to the next level in senior health care. A large focus is the continued expansion of Vincentian’s services into other areas of the region and the growth of services and benevolent care provided. “I couldn’t be more honored to lead the Vincentian Board of Directors and work with Vincentian’s Senior Leadership Team to foster the next generation of senior care. The organization’s mission and my personal values are well aligned.
