SMGG Sends H. Yale Gutnick Off to Retirement With a Celebration

On June 27, 2019, SMGG’s attorney, staff, family and friends, celebrated the distinguished career of partner, H. Yale Gutnick (“Yale”) as he retired from the firm after over 50 years practicing law.  The event was held at Eddie Merlot’s in Pittsburgh.

Yale began his career in 1967 working for the Department of Justice, U.S. Attorney’s Office in Washington, D.C., having the opportunity at that time to work on some of the most political cases of the era.  Finding his niche in litigation, Yale joined Strassburger McKenna as a partner in 1979, becoming the 4th lawyer of the firm.  Throughout his time with Strassburger McKenna Gutnick & Gefsky, Yale honed his skill and was very instrumental in developing the Firm’s Entertainment and Media Practice Group, attracting many big name entertainment companies to the Pittsburgh firm.  Additionally, Yale’s First Amendment work brought many media and newspaper outlets to the firm as clients.

Yale will be missed by many, but is looking forward to spending quality time with his family and at his  home in Park City, Utah.
