SMGG Boosts Presence with Allegheny County Bar Association Board of Governors

Several team members now sit on the prominent Board of Governors for ACBA

Law firm Strassburger McKenna Gutnick & Gefsky (SMGG) now has three team members who have been elected to the Allegheny County Bar Association’s (ACBA) Board of Governors. The ACBA is a professional organization with 6,000 members including, lawyers, judges, magisterial district judges, legal administrators and paralegals, which oversees more than 60 Committees, Divisions, and Sections that deal with a variety of legal issues.

Shareholders Danielle Dietrich and Erica Laughlin, and Director Jean Novak, are all elected members of the ACBA Board of Governors. The Board of Governors is the governing body of the ACBA and is tasked with setting policy and providing direction to the organization.

Ms. Dietrich was recently elected to serve her second three-year term, and Ms. Laughlin is currently in the second year of her three-year term. Ms. Novak was recently elected to fill a one-year term on this Board. Over the coming year, Ms. Dietrich, Ms. Laughlin, and Ms. Novak will be heavily involved in guiding the ACBA through organizational challenges the industry is facing due to COVID-19, including operations and financial stewardship. These women are committed to furthering the ACBA’s leadership role in diversity, inclusion and equality for all members, in particular enhancing methods and means to better support and advance women within the profession.
