SMGG Shareholder, Erica L. Laughlin was recently elected to the Executive Council of the National Conference of Bar Presidents (NCBP.) Erica will serve as a Member-at-Large for the national organization until 2026.

Erica has always been an active member of the state, local, and national bar associations. Over the years, she has served on many committees and in various leadership roles for the Allegheny County Bar Association, most recently having completed her term as President for the association.

“The Allegheny County Bar Association is extremely proud that Erica was elected to serve on the National Conference of Bar President’s Executive Council.” stated ACBA Executive Director David Blaner. “The ACBA is recognized as a leader among Metro Bar Associations across the United States. Erica’s involvement in NCBP will enable her to share the ACBA’s programs and projects with other Bar Association’s and to gather helpful information concerning membership recruitment and retention as our organization focuses on these efforts in the coming months.”

Erica looks forward to leveraging her experience at the Allegheny County Bar Association on the national level in her role at the NCBP:

All bar associations serve a vital role for the legal community, and strong leadership is critical to that function. I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to work with NCBP assisting other bar leaders from across the country. We’re doing great things here in Allegheny County, and I look forward to sharing our experiences at the national level and shining a light on what we’re achieving here at home.

The NCBP was founded in 1950 to provide information and training to state and local bar association leaders.  It is made up of state, local, and special focus bars from across the country, represented by their presidents/leaders, and has a mission to empower, connect, and inspire those bar leaders and organizations. The Executive Council is comprised of five officers and fifteen at-large members, all recent bar presidents who participated in NCBP programming and networking, and who want to share their experiences and perspectives with current bar leaders.
