Matthew Morella is an associate attorney at Strassburger McKenna Gutnick & Gefsky. Mr. Morella’s practice focuses in Education Law and Municipal Law.
Mr. Morella graduated from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in May 2020 with a concentration in tax law. As part of his work with the University of Pittsburgh School of Law’s Low-Income Taxpayer Clinic, he wrote a section of an amicus brief to the Pennsylvania Supreme Court in the case of General Motors Corp. v. Commonwealth. In law school, he also served as a research assistant for Professor Gerald Dickinson, helping establish a Community Land Trust in Pittsburgh’s Hill District neighborhood. Additionally, he gained valuable experience clerking for Judge John L. Musmanno in the summer of 2018. Prior to law school, Mr. Morella graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Certificate in Public and Professional Writing.
Prior to joining SMGG, Mr. Morella worked at the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue and most recently as a tax associate at KPMG. He formerly served as a Board Member for the Ellwood City Area School District.
Mr. Morella currently resides in Carnegie, Pennsylvania.
