Jacquelin Walker, an Associate at Strassburger McKenna Gutnick & Gefsky, has a practice in the Media and Entertainment, Business Services and Public/Non-Profit and Education practice areas. Walker has experience working with small businesses, large corporations, and public entities, including the University of Pittsburgh, the Harry Walker Agency (HWA), and Creative Artists Agency (CAA). She uses her years working in house and in business operations to inform her law practice, blending risk assessment, negotiation, and sales with clear analysis of the law to find solutions that strengthen client business and advocate for client needs.
Walker started her career in television production at Turner Broadcasting before pursuing legal studies. After law school, Walker pursued a deeper understanding of the entertainment business joining the Creative Artists Agency, first in operations and later the speakers department. In 2014 she joined the Harry Walker Agency’s contracts department, where she served a roster of 200+ speakers and handled the legal needs and deals of the entire staff of sales agents, rising in the ranks to lead the department.
Beyond the practice of law, Walker is a curator, event producer, yoga teacher, and advocate for equity in the arts and entertainment sectors. Active in her community, Walker has served as a mentor and instructor for Ghetto Film School and an events manager for Blackhouse Foundation, both in New York. Walker’s cultural production and curatorial practice, Fete-Fete Ltd., supports visual artists, filmmakers, performers, and culinary artists by providing a platform for them to reach new audiences and new collaborators. An alumna of YogaRoots on Location (200 hour YTT), Walker leads yoga classes around the city of Pittsburgh and beyond, rooting her practice in joy and sharing tools that help others to create self-awareness with an eye toward individual and collective healing and community building.
Jacquelin Walker has a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Media Arts, Film from Clark Atlanta University and a Juris Doctor from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. Walker is admitted to practice law in Pennsylvania and New York. She is a Pittsburgh native residing in Garfield.
