David A. Strassburger

David A. Strassburger is the Immediate Past President of Strassburger McKenna Gutnick & Gefsky. For more than 25 years, Mr. Strassburger has been one of Pennsylvania’s most accomplished and respected civil litigators. Mr. Strassburger serves as the firm’s Chief Diversity Officer and chairs SMGG’s Litigation Group.

Mr. Strassburger’s trial work has included such diverse matters as unfair competition, employment discrimination, professional liability, building defects, and business disputes. He is particularly experienced in advising clients undergoing and litigating “business break-ups.” Mr. Strassburger also regularly represents law firms, lawyers, and their former clients when their relationship breaks down.

Described by clients as extraordinarily experienced in the courtroom and laser-focused on winning his cases, Mr. Strassburger is sought after by businesses and firms of all kinds in Western Pennsylvania when they need advocacy practiced at the highest level. He is also known for representing his clients in an extremely cost-effective and strategic way.

Mr. Strassburger is a Senior Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America and President-Elect of the Academy of Trial Lawyers of Allegheny County. Among other activities, he is honored to serve on the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania’s Suggested Standard Civil Jury Instruction Subcommittee, which drafts jury instructions used by trial judges throughout Pennsylvania. Additionally, from 1996 to 1998, Mr. Strassburger served as a Law Clerk to Hon. Joseph F. Weis, Jr., United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.

Mr. Strassburger has been married since 1996 to Meredith Brozost Strassburger, LSW. They live with their two children, Scott and Julia, in the Squirrel Hill region of Pittsburgh.
