Matthew C. Collins is an associate with the Pittsburgh office of Strassburger McKenna Gutnick & Gefsky. His primary practice areas include creditor’s rights, commercial litigation, lender liability, insolvency, FDCPA defense and criminal defense. Mr. Collins also counsels businesses and individuals on how to implement compliance programs or other measures to help avoid or, at the very least, limit the exposure to litigation.

After graduating from law school, Mr. Collins worked as a judicial clerk for Judge Zoran Popovich of the Pennsylvania Superior Court. After his clerkship, Mr. Collins gained considerable courtroom experience working in the trial division of the Allegheny County Public Defender. Mr. Collins left government employment and developed a regional practice that focused on defending financial institutions and debt collectors as well as such commercial litigation matters as shareholder disputes, fraud claims and RICO actions. Mr. Collins was with a boutique litigation firm with several other attorneys but decided that he could better represent his clients at a full-service firm like Strassburger McKenna Gutnick & Gefsky.

Mr. Collins supports local community development and has participated in numerous nonprofit activities. Mr. Collins resides in the Upper St. Clair suburb of Pittsburgh with his family.
