Julie Aquino is an associate with the Pittsburgh office of Strassburger McKenna Gutnick & Gefsky. Her primary practice areas include civil and commercial litigation.
For two years, Ms. Aquino served as a law clerk to the Hon. R. Stanton Wettick, Jr., working in the Commerce and Complex Litigation Center in the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas.
Ms. Aquino received her law degree, cum laude, in May 2007 from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law where she graduated in the Order of the Coif. While in law school she was the Editor-in-Chief of the University of Pittsburgh Journal of Environmental and Public Health Law and the recipient of a Dean's Scholarship. Prior to becoming Editor-in-Chief, the Journal chose for publication an article she authored, NAVIGATING IN UNCERTAIN WATERS: 2006 UPDATE ON THE REGULATION OF BALLAST WATER DISCHARGE IN THE UNITED STATES, 1 PITT. J. ENVTL. & PUB. HEALTH L. 101 (2006).
Ms. Aquino was admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar and certified to practice before the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania in December of 2007. She is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association and the Allegheny County Bar Association.
Ms. Aquino holds a bachelor of fine arts degree from Carnegie Mellon University where she graduated with honors. She is among alumni from Carnegie Mellon's drama program with work experience in the television and film industries in Los Angeles. She is a native of Bethel Park, a suburb of Pittsburgh.
