Harry F. Kunselman is a co-managing partner with the Pittsburgh and New Brighton offices of the law firm of Strassburger McKenna Gutnick & Gefsky. A member of the prestigious Academy of Trial Lawyers of Allegheny County, he is experienced in a wide range of litigation matters.
Examples of Mr. Kunselman's work include cases involving disputes among shareholders and directors of RMS Titanic, Inc., the corporation that owns the salvage rights to the wreck of the Titanic; disputes arising out of covenants not to compete; general counseling and litigation services for owners of local restaurants and real estate developers; and commercial disputes of all kinds. In the firm's plaintiff 's practice, his work has included products liability, professional malpractice, automobile accidents, and premises liability.
Mr. Kunselman has been with Strassburger McKenna since 1994 and became a shareholder in 1998. He was attracted to the firm because of its renown as aggressive and highly competent litigators, greater opportunities to handle plaintiffs' cases, and the firm's reputation for a fascinating diversity of clients. He began his career handling insurance defense and complex commercial litigation at one of Pittsburgh's large law firms.
The son of the former president judge of the Court of Common Pleas of Beaver County, Pennsylvania, Mr. Kunselman and his family have a rich legal heritage in western Pennsylvania. Primarily because his client base in Beaver County has continued to grow, the firm opened an office there in New Brighton in the spring of 2001 for the convenience of clients and others located northwest of Pittsburgh.
Professional and Community
Mr. Kunselman has an abiding interest in serving his profession and community. In the legal field, in addition to the Academy of Trial Lawyers, he has been active with the Allegheny County Bar Association, formerly as a member of its Board of Governors, chair of the Young Lawyers Section, member of the Civil Litigation Section Council, and chair of the Law Library Committee. He has been active with the Pennsylvania Bar Association as co-chair of Zone 12, Young Lawyers Division, and as a member of its House of Delegates. He is an associate member of the Beaver County Bar Association.
In the community, Mr. Kunselman is a member and vice president of the Upper St. Clair School Board, a member of the Rotary Club of Beaver, and past chair and former member of the City of Pittsburgh Commission on Human Relations.
Family and Personal
Mr. Kunselman resides in the Upper St. Clair suburb of Pittsburgh with his wife, Frankie Jo, and children, Colin and Jenna. He is an avid fly fisherman and college basketball fan. He also enjoys camping and playing golf.
