Chrystal C. Tinstman is an associate with the Pittsburgh office of Strassburger McKenna Gutnick and Gefsky. Although she concentrates her practice on family law, her experience extends to and includes municipal law, real estate, zoning and planning, estate administration, election law, and civil litigation.
Ms. Tinstman’s family practice involves all aspects of family law including separation, divorce, custody, complex child and spousal support, protection from abuse, prenuptial and marriage settlement agreements, enforcement, and equitable distribution hearings where she represents both men and women of diverse economic backgrounds. In each of these categories, she has extensive courtroom experience and represents her client with great sensitivity to their personal needs during these difficult experiences.
Ms. Tinstman’s proficiency in other areas of law not only enhances her service to her family clients as their issues in the divorce or other affairs often extend into additional areas of law but widens her scope of general practice.
Ms. Tinstman’s extensive knowledge of municipal law comes from serving as solicitor or assistant solicitor for eight municipal entities including the Boroughs of Conway, Freedom, Rochester and Baden, Leet Township, the Municipal Authority of the Borough of Leetsdale, Baden Municipal Authority and the Municipal Water Authority of the City of Aliquippa. From this, she ascertained, amongst other skills, a great ability to handle zoning and planning issues for private individuals with such needs that required presentation to the governing municipal entity such as subdivisions or variances.
She also practices in all levels of real estate transactions where she negotiates deals, prepares sales agreements, serves as a title agent and performs closings on purchases and refinancing of real estate. This experience with real estate includes actions to quiet title and the ability to draft easements and deeds.
Still further, Ms. Tinstman’s practical experience includes a wide range of civil litigation that includes neighbor disputes, landlord/tenant issues, personal injury, contract actions, etc. Again, all serving to enhance her representation of her clients in whatever their needs may be at that time.
Ms. Tinstman practices in all levels of state court including not only the Allegheny, Beaver, Washington, Butler and Lawrence County Courts of Common Pleas but Pennsylvania’s Superior, Commonwealth and Supreme Courts where she represented both the appellant and appellee on different occasions.
